Dunnock
 
The Dunnock is often mistaken for a sparrow but apart from the drab colouring is quite different.

This video clip was taken in July 2010 and clearly shows the Dunnock’s distinctive, if quite  boring, colouring...brown, light brown and dark brown!!

Facts about the Dunnock


  1. Bullet Otherwise known as Prunella modularis - “little brown singer”!!

  1. Bullet Characterised by its thin bill used to pick up small insects and seeds mainly from the ground


  1. Bullet Its plumage may be dull but if you look more closely it’s not as dull as you think!
